VIP Silver Socket
The VIP Silver Twin Socket functions as a primary power distribution point for commercial and industrial electrical systems. This 13A rated component supports standard 250V AC input frequencies. It fits into standard double-gang mounting boxes with a minimum depth of 35mm. The silver aesthetic integrates with modern architectural hardware and professional office layouts.
The internal contact system utilizes high-conductivity copper alloys. These components minimize heat generation during peak load conditions. Each outlet operates via a single-pole switch mechanism. The switch provides clear tactile feedback upon actuation. This ensures the user can verify the circuit state without visual confirmation. Safety shutters are integrated into the socket face. These shutters prevent the insertion of foreign objects into the live or neutral apertures. The mechanism activates only when the longer earth pin of a BS 1363 plug is engaged. This protective feature is standard across the entire VIP Silver Switches and Sockets range.
The rear housing features clear terminal markings for rapid identification. Large aperture terminals allow for the connection of up to three 2.5mm² cables. This capacity facilitates the creation of ring circuits in large office floors. Captive terminal screws remain within the housing during installation to prevent loss. The exterior faceplate is constructed from impact-resistant polycarbonate. The silver finish is applied using a multi-layer process. This coating resists chemical cleaners and physical abrasion. The low-profile design reduces the protrusion from the wall surface. This minimizes the risk of physical damage in high-traffic corridors.
The unit undergoes rigorous insulation resistance testing at 500V DC. This ensures dielectric strength between live parts and the earth terminal. Consequently, the hardware is suitable for diverse climates and non-conditioned equipment rooms. The silver-plated contacts reduce arcing during the switching process. This extension of contact life increases the mean time between failures for the installation.

The socket itself is great for the price, but the plastic screw covers were a bit of a headache to snap in place without worrying about scratching the silver paint. Just be gentle during installation. Otherwise, it’s a solid 13A unit and looks very premium on the wall.

The silver finish is very decent. We used these for our boardroom in Upper Hill and they really elevate the space compared to the basic white plastic ones. The switches feel firm and the 13A capacity handles our heavy office equipment without any issues. Good stuff for a modern office look.

Much better than the usual local brands. The VIP Silver range has a nice matte-like feel that matches my grey wall paint perfectly. I’ve replaced all the sockets in the sitting room with these twin ones and the difference is clear. Very happy with the purchase.

These twin sockets look very smart in my kitchen. The silver doesn’t show fingerprints as much as I expected, which is a plus. My fundi finished the installation quickly and said the terminals are easy to work with. Only wish the screws were a bit longer for my deep backbox, but we managed.
